About Paul Burke
Paul began playing guitar at the age of 12 after being inspired by his Father to take it up. He joined his first band at the age of 15, and was gigging in local pubs and clubs one year later with a local rock covers band. After leaving school, Paul went on to study music for the next five years, first at Colchester Institute and later at Guitar-X as part of Thames Valley University, where he achieved a 2:1 in Popular Music Performance. Upon completing a degree, Paul began working in a local guitar shop, originally offering private one to one guitar lessons in store before quickly expanding to becoming a full time professional guitar and music teacher. Paul has now been teaching for eight years, even going as far as to teach music classes in schools and colleges, as well as continuing to offer private, tailored guitar tuition.
Paul is a versatile and experienced guitarist, specialising in a wide variety of musical styles. He has endured stints in a number of different bands throughout the years, and has performed in a wide variety of settings, including major festivals, theatres, pubs, clubs, bars and restaurants. It’s safe to say that when Paul is not teaching guitar and music, he is out performing live in some capacity.
