Slap and Pop Guitar – Lick Of The Week #14

by | September 13, 2019

This week David Freeman treats us to some funky slap and pop guitar with this pentatonic-based riff in E minor. This one uses a 1-octave open position Pentatonic scale, but that’s where the simplicity of this riff ends. The combination of slapping and popping with percussive muting and lots of syncopation makes this one tricky riff to nail.

These kind of techniques and rhythmic ideas feature a lot in our upcoming Level 5 release. So be sure to keep an eye out for updates on that! You can follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date with all the latest Veevar news. In the meantime, enjoy some slap and pop guitar and wrap your fingers and thumbs around this very cool riff!
